Pillow Talk

Have you woken up from a long sleep feeling tired and with sore muscles? I often do! And pillows have a lot to do with it.

Thus, my fascination with hotel pillows. Aside from bubble bath gels for my sons, the pillow menu comes next for checking. Unfortunately, not all hotels offer a variety of pillows but most big hotels do. They have their “pillow menu” in one of those loose cards you can see on the table when you enter your hotel room.

Excuse the fetish for pillows… but if you’re not so lucky, some regular hotel pillows that you see on your bed aren’t that good. They look big and fluffy and cozy but as soon as you lay down your head, it – pffft – shrinks to uselessness. Before you know it, you’re stretching your neck right, left and backwards in a futile attempt to relax your muscles and state of mind.

Hubby got our family an lntercontinental Hotel sleepover last Valentines Day. It was a happy Valentines, a big one-day break from bed cleaning and cooking and… toilet cleaning!

And pillow fetish gratification. My neck was well-positioned and rested in my jade pillow. My son chose the buckwheat candy pillow just because it looked cute on the picture. But it’s not really something that he could use for long.

Each hotel has its own pillow menu… I took some photos of the pillow menu in one of our Holiday Inn hotel stay because I meant to blog about it, but somehow forgot to do it (more accurately, procrastinated on it).

Next time you get into a hotel, make sure you order your pillow of choice. They are only provided upon request. No worries, there is no additional charge for the use of those. But don’t bring them home, please!

Cheers and have a restful sleep.
