Our family recently went on a trip to Bandung so, naturally, we had to research where to stay in Bandung. The Sheraton Bandung Hotel & Towers was an easy choice. It is part of the Marriott Hotels where my husband enjoys hotel membership. And when you have a hotel membership, you get to avail yourself of some perks. We love hotel perks!
One of the perks of a high hotel membership is an upgrade. I think my husband has a high membership level that’s why we almost always get hotel upgrades on top of very welcoming staff who are always briefed on the status of their guests. And there’s always that personalized welcome note with a plate of fruits and/or chocolates. Sometimes, we get a bottle of wine, too. I am always grateful for these gestures of welcome.
Amenities at the Hotel
Executive Suite Room
We got an Executive Suite Room with access to a connecting room.
The Executive Suite Room has one bedroom, a dining area, a living room area, and a service area. There is a toilet and bath in the bedroom and another toilet in the living room. We got a connecting room to accommodate all 5 of us. The video will be available on my YT channel.
Executive Lounge
One of the amenities we enjoy at the hotel is its Executive Lounge. My husband and I always check if there is an Executive Lounge because not all hotels, even when they are the same chain, offer this. And not all Executive Lounges offer the same food and drinks, too.
In the US, almost all Executive Lounges are purely for drinks and cocktails. In Asia, it depends on the location and the type of activities around it. The Executive Lounge of Westin Chosun in Busan offers unlimited drinks and hearty dishes. You can actually have your breakfast and dinner there. The Marriott Hotel in Songdo, Korea only offers drinks and some cocktail finger food.
Almost all Executive Lounges do not allow kids under 12. Some do because they are located in vacation places. The Marriott Hotel in Guam allowed us to bring our sons who were below 12 years old at the time we stayed there.
At Sheraton, our sons were able to join us at the Executive Lounge. The foods served are also good for breakfast and dinner meals. And there are only a few people in there.
Breakfast Buffet
The breakfast buffet is on the ground floor of the hotel connected to the swimming pool area. My favorite is its fresh fruits area and its native delicacies area.
We can only eat so much!
The breakfast area ends at 10:00 am while the Executive Lounge ends at 11:00 am.
What I love about Sheraton was, they were not so strict. One day, I had breakfast with my sons at the Breakfast Buffet area and had tea with my husband and father-in-law at the Executive Lounge when I joined after their round of golf.
Swimming Pool and Garden
The swimming pool is just right for families, especially those with small children. My family and sons, though not small anymore, still enjoyed playing there. There is also a garden on the hotel grounds with horses (at least 2 horses) which hotel guests with children can enjoy. Again, though my sons are no longer small, they got to ride these horses for a few minutes. There is no fee to get on the horses but be kind enough to give tips to their carers.
Location
Sheraton is located in the Dago area of Bandung. It is very close to the oldest golf course in Indonesia, the Dago Endah Golf built in 1917.
It is not in the city center so you are spared the traffic. But it is also not far from the city center. I guess that means a lot to me for me to include it here:-). Seriously though when we went around the city center, we saw hotels near each other. That’s great if you go to Bandung for shopping. Bandung is known for its outlet stores. But, if you go there to have other kinds of fun, Sheraton provides a good location and a big space to also enjoy the hotel you stay in.

I haven’t stayed in Sheraton hotels however if they served an amazing spread buffet then definitely that will entice me to book my reservation. You look glowing in your photos!

Astig! I’ve never gone to Indonesia, but The Sheraton appears to be an excellent choice of accommodation. This is something I will surely keep in mind should I visit the country.
