Weber Classic 2024 - a Track and Field Invitational participated by Jakarta Intercultural School, British School Jakarta, Tzu Chi School Jakarta, and International School Kuala Lumpur. He worked hard for these:

Gold Medal - 100m
Gold Medal - 200m
Gold Medal - 400m
First Place Ribbon - 4 x 100m
First Place Ribbon - 4 x 400m
First Place Ribbon - 100, 100, 200, 400 medley
Silver Medal - Shot Put

May shot put event pala sya. He didn't want me to watch, nothing lg daw yun. We only knew he placed second during the awarding this afternoon.

It's been a good Track and Field Season for bunso:-).

I'm in Iloilo because we got a Farm! We bought th

I'm in Iloilo because we got a Farm!

We bought this 2.7 hectares farmland in Guimaras January last year, 2023 pa. Paperworks were done and we got the title on June 2023. No under the table negotiations to speed up release of new title under our name. I used a lawyer to process for us and I issued an SPA to my father so he can process and sign legal documents for me and my husband. Doable and mabilis ang pag release ng documents without paying under the table fees. I'm happy and satisfied with how things were done.

Now we are thinking what to name the farm... pero sa totoo lang, we are not yet sure with the concept. Kaya slow development lang ito:-)... basta, as of now we just want to have sturdy trees and fruit-bearing trees in the farm.

What do you think is a good name for this Guimaras farm?

Also known as Campanario de Jaro. It is a beautiful and historical belfry that has undergone renovation. Definitely one of Ilonggo's prized structure.

February 2 is the Feast of Nuestra Sra de la Candelaria - the Our Lady of Candles. It is a big feast here in Jaro, Iloilo but this year is simple compared to years past. No Queen and Princesses, just the Candelaria's procession around the usual route. Crowd is not as big as the previous years, too. But it's ok. Jaro remains faithful to the Candelaria.

My almost daily grind... from the port of Iloilo to Jordan, Guimaras.

It only takes 15-20 minutes by ferry. Soon, a bridge will rise between Iloilo to Guimaras and Guimaras to Negros. That will still take years from now but it's there and will definitely be built soon. That will be a big leap for the province of Guimaras and we are looking forward to this connection between our islands. 🙂

Behind me is the Arroyo Fountain - known as the Kilometer Zero. It is the benchmark used to measure distances from Iloilo City to other points in Panay Island and the Western Visayas region.

It was declared an Important Cultural Property (ICP) with the Casa Real de Iloilo by the National Museum of the Philippines (NMP) in December 2022..

Joining the merry-making in the Iloilo Dinagyang Festival means walking around the city.

I'm glad because I was able to walk along Drilon Bridge connecting La Paz and Muelle Loney... Behind me is the MacArthur Bridge. Ang colorful ng Iloilo, di ba?

Hayyy, Iloilo has so much more eye candies to offer:-)

Dinagyang is an Ilonggo festival honoring Sto. Niño. It is the biggest festival here in Iloilo and there are many activities lined-up until the festival highlight, the tribe competition that happened this morning. The rest of Sunday is "sadsad" where Ilonggos go out on the streets for merry-making. We also say "dagyang ta".

If you plan on visiting Iloilo and you enjoy the big crowd, the party atmosphere, and the never-ending food fest, time your visit on the 4th week of January.

Meantime, here I am on the streets of Iloilo.
