The Seoul Garden Show is an annual event sponsored by the Seoul Metropolitan Government. One of my friends, Marjohry, is a plant and flowers guru (shhhh, she doesn’t want to be called that!). Show her a leaf and a flower, and she’ll tell you its name. And so, together with the other ladies of the Philippine Women’s Club, we checked the latest trends in garden design at Yeouido Park on its last day yesterday.
The garden designs make we want to go home to the Philippines! Back home, we have space in contrast to the high-rise apartments we live in here in Seoul. But if you are like Marjohry who, no matter how big or small, will make her house cozy with greens and water sounds, then these garden trends serve as her inspiration to beautify her already cozy home.
As for me? I loved the instagrammable spots especially put up for the 5-day event.
How does a fiery red and bright yellow come out?
And, of all places this is the place I can relate with the most these days:
“You get a strange feeling when you’re about to leave a place, like you’ll not only miss the people you love but you’ll miss the person you are now at this time and this place, because you’ll never be this way ever again.”
― Azar Nafisi, Reading Lolita in Tehran
I will have to make sure that next year, I know the exact duration so I can set the date with friends early on… on its first day. This is something to look forward to.
Yeouido Park is easily accessible by car, bus or train. The easiest way is to get off Exit 3 of Yoido Station. From the exit, walk straight until the main road and cross to the park.
