One of the best things that happened with the Philippine Women’s Club last year was obtaining an account under its own name. Our group effort has made it possible to professionalize the organization and no matter who is at the helm, we are assured that the Philippine Women’s Club will continue standing, representing and promoting our Philippine culture here in South Korea.
In order to open an account under an organization’s name, the organization should be a registered non-profit organization (NPO). You may get in touch with me if you want to know the process and requirements for registering an NPO.
I am glad to have met Mr. Joel Levin, the Relationship Manager with the Foreign Investment & Client Department of KEB Hana Bank at SIWA’s Enrichment showcase last year. He was very helpful in guiding and introducing me to KEB Hana’s Itaewon Branch which is dedicated to expats/foreigners’ needs. The Special “Global Center” for expats is located on the 3rd floor of the Itaewon Branch and services clients from 9am – 4pm.
I brought the following documents necessary for NPOs:
- PWC’s original Tax ID Certificate (Korean: Guyu Bunho-jjeung”)
- Passport of the President / Daepyosa
- Korean Government ID of the President / Daepyosa
- Certificate of Application for Opening of the Account stating the nature of the organization, the purpose of opening the account dated and stamped (with Daepyosa’s personal seal)
- PWC’s Club Seal
It was an easy endeavor as we have the requirements ready. Right after the application, I got our PWC passbook, and cards and has secured our internet access.
Cheers to our group effort (with special mention to our PWC Treasurer who is always full of energy for PWC activities, Miss Razel Kim) and kudos to our officers and members who are graciously putting their time and effort to PWC.
