– Jorge Tamundong from Gimpo
– Rodney Queman from Seosan
“Thank you po. – Wilfredo Rosal from Hwaseong
These are some of the feedback from the attendees of the 2nd Chemical Safety Training held last May 19, 2019 in Seoul. The Philippine Women’s Club (PWC) organized the event sponsored by the Ministry of Environment, Korea Chemicals Management Association (KCMA) and Migrants Network TV (MNTV). The event was attended by Labor Attache Celeste Valderrama who welcomed the attendees by congratulating them for choosing to attend the training: “Congratulations to those of you who have chosen to invest your Sunday afternoon to gain important lessons that may change your life.” She also reminded everyone in the venue, “There are chemicals that are hazardous to your safety. The key is knowing how to handle them and how to work with them safely. By doing so, you don’t only protect yourself from injury, accident or death. But you also protect your families, your company and the environment.”
The most interesting part of the training came when Professor Song Dae Jong of KCMA showed how the protective gears should be properly put on and taken out after use. The attendees were very interested and were in full attention as they found out that to ensure safety, the right order should be done when putting on and taking out the gear.
Attendees traveled from Hwaseong, Cheonan, Asan, Yong-in, Shiheung, Namyangju and Seosan. Jorom Gumilat came all the way from Gimhae City, Busan. He had to take the train ride back to Busan immediately after the training. Asked if the travel was worth it, he replied, “Sulit na sulit po.
Just like in the first training held in November 2018, Ms. Katherine Corteza translated the whole module facilitated by Professor Song Dae Jong. All the attendees received a “Certificate of Completion” and a first aid bag from the Ministry of Environment.

I find it very interesting how much Filipinos have embraced Korean culture, especially our music and fashion. I always enjoy watching YouTube videos of Pinoy dancers doing their cover of KPop groups
I love the Philippines and it’s people. I love the weather, the food and the night life. The only thing I don’t like is the traffic.
