Can you imagine a Hanok-themed Baskin Robbins? I chanced upon it in Samcheong-dong. And I loved it! It was eye-catching I knew I had to take a photo.
Turned out this is Baskin Robbins newest branch. It is special as it finely puts together its Western look into the most traditional Korean architecture, the Hanok. Hanok is a Korean traditional house and this kind of architecture dates back to the Joseon Dynasty.
Baskin Robbins and Korean Culture
As most of you might have noticed, Baskin Robbins has been actively involving its brand into the Korean pop culture. If you are following me in my Youtube channel you would know Baskin Robbins had collaborations with the BTS K-pop group. My favorite among the videos was the Unboxing of the BTS Tiny Tan Figures. A lot of the ARMYs were requesting to have these as giveaways in my channel. But I can’t let go of these tiny tans. They just look so adorable as little figures.
So when I saw the Hanok-themed Baskin Robbins, I was drawn to it. To make this branch stand out from the rest, there are special desserts and beverages that are available only in this store. They are made with traditional Korean ingredients. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to taste them so that leaves me wondering how these taste.
Perhaps, that is one good reason for me to head up to the lovely neighborhood of Samcheong-dong again.
For now, it is enough to know how these companies try to blend in the culture of Korea. It is also a fitting gesture to honor this most respected Korean architecture.
Head up to Samcheong-dong before the winter chill totally takes over. This is one Baskin Robbins branch where you don’t need to worry about space as its outdoor space looks inviting.

NagBaskin Robbins ako dito sa Pinas kahapon, around 150 pesos so kinonvert ko sa KRW para maisip ko na mura lang siya. HAHAHA!
