TFC News Correspondent for Jakarta

I am finally able to share that I am the TFC News Correspondent for Jakarta.

A friend from Seoul, Dr. Joeffrey Calimag, called me last December if I was interested to be the TFC News Correspondent for Jakarta. He is the correspondent based in Seoul. He mentioned the Asia Pacific Head of TFC News is looking for a correspondent based here. I said yes, because, why not? I love to take challenges to spice up my life outside of my housewife and mother duties.

A call was immediately made by the head of TFC’s Asia Pacific news bureau on the same afternoon. He happened to be a schoolmate back in UP-Miagao. I was excited to start but I can only start after the contract was processed and signed. So, the waiting began and I had to keep the information because I didn’t want it to be jinxed.

Finally, the contract was emailed to me this month. I can start working on my first report! Even then, only a few friends knew about it until the first news was published. I chose the new Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the Philippine Permanent Mission to the ASEAN as my first report. Luckily, Amb and PR Joy Quintana also wants to show and inform the public what the Mission does in the ASEAN.

Here is the report as published:

What a TFC News Correspondent Does

The TFC News is a segment in ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol. The correspondent chosen for the country reports on Philippine-related events and news of the country he is residing in. So, I will be on the lookout for Philippine-related events and news here in Jakarta from now on.

I am excited!
