Tourist Visa for Nepal

Getting a Nepal tourist visa was very easy.

You may apply for the visa from the Nepal Embassy in the Philippines (or Nepal Embassy in the country where you are in), or you may apply for a visa upon entry. No worries, though… Nepal is a tourist-friendly nation. It is very easy to get a visa upon arrival.

My husband printed the Application Form for Nepal Visa and asked me to fill them out so we didn’t need to line up for the application forms upon arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport. Dutifully, the forms were filled-out the night before we were to leave.

On the airplane, flight attendants handed out application forms for tourists. I got them for comparison. With minor differences, I decided to fill out those airplane-issued forms. Then we prepared the following:

  • application form
  • passport size photos
  • payment of $25 per person (less than 30 days stay in Nepal) more info about payment HERE.

We immediately lined up at the lane for payment of our visa. Good news for us! We prepared $100 for the 4 of us. But my younger son is only 7 years old and we learned that children under 10 years old enter Nepal without visa fee. Yahoo!

Because his visa is gratis, my 7 year old lined-up on a different lane. We were watching him as he confidently breezed through Immigration. His passport was manually signed for his entry. The three of us, my husband, older son and I, got out of Immigration pretty fast, too. August is not a peak season in Nepal.

So there, if you want to see the Himalayas and do your Nepal adventure it isn’t hard to get a visa!
