A Much Needed Facial Treatment with ImageUp

“I regret taking such good care of my skin”

– said no one ever

The skin care specialists at Image Up know this best. It is what we women need and it was what I needed most. So, I had a consultation with Ms. Hyunjung Lee 2 weeks ago at the Image Up Building near Sinsa Station. I had some concerns, especially the perennially present dark circles under my eyes and my bulging eye bags.

After the consultation, I waited for a few minutes in their 2nd-floor lobby. The 2nd floor is where the consultation and non-invasive procedures are being done.

The ImageUp Building is a 4-story building that houses the ImageUp facility. The 1st floor is where the security is. The 3rd floor is where the surgeries happen. It also has a recovery room where patients can stay for a few hours. The 4th floor serves as a waiting room and a function room like the event hosted by the Philippine Women’s Club last March 17, 2018 celebrating the Women’s Month. It was an afternoon of learning beauty and skin care steps from Ms. Minhee Kim, the English Coordinator of ImageUp. For more photos, check the Facebook album of the event, “BE.YOU.TIFUL Woman in You”.

I realized how clueless I was when it comes to skin care after Ms. Kim’s presentation. I learned a few things and I am glad I am making some adjustments now. The women attendees were glued to the presentation and had a renewed interest in skin care. It made me think women empowerment is not limited to the big things, big events and a big arena that women can do and be in. Simple changes and decisions pertaining to your own face and body is an empowering choice for a woman to do, too.

Personally, I only do simple and non-invasive procedures. But whatever you decide to do with your own face and body is yours to independently make. That is your own power to make and feel the beautiful woman in you.

For inquiries and consultation, directly message ImageUP on their facebook page: ImageUp and Ms. Minhee Kim will be able to attend to your inquiries.

  1. Same here, I also have really bad dark eye circles I wish I could get rid of 🙁 sounds like you had an amazing experience! Xoxo

  2. I want to apply for the free trial program. I’ve always wanted to try some, but I wasn’t sure about its effect. So it would be so nice, if I could have an experience and assurance about future skin care plan. Thanks in advance.

  3. My skin has gotten so dry as I get older to the point where it’s just flaky regardless of the season (of course it’s worse in the winter). I’d love to try out image Up’s facial to learn more about how to take care of my skin especially with my skin type. I need some serious hydration on my face!

  4. I’m in my 20’s and I have never really cared for my skin ! I also have very bad dark circles and sometimes patchy skin ! I usually just reply on the norm korean beauty skincare routine but I feel like I should really do a facial treatment a try !

  5. What exactly was your non invasive treatment? It looked like the facial contraption in your photo probably did some skin resurfacing with a laser, or something that’s supposed to help dark circles and eye bags? I heard that dark circles are possibly caused from toxins that haven’t been eliminated by the body. I wonder if visiting a Korean Medical Doctor who can probably suggest a cleanse might be effective. I visit Dr. Yoon in Insa Dong for my acupuncture and cosmetic-ish treatments.

    1. I had a basic facial treatment. The machine is an Omega PDT and has nothing to do with dark circles and eye bags since I didn’t decide on that yet:-)

  6. So the mystery remains – what did you get done, Wendy?! lol If the machine wasn’t for the dark circles, then you must have gotten something really special instead. With a Machine name like Omega PDT, I bet it does some wonders.
Would love to see before/after when/if you go for the dark circles treatment. It sounds like many of us are curious about that 🙂

  7. Thanks for sharing your experience at Imageup! It’s always good to know about places to go that can serve women who speak English. Recommendations are always helpful! How did you find your facial treatment?

  8. ” Simple changes and decisions pertaining to your own face and body is an empowering choice for a woman to do, too”. Yes! I agree that one of the most empowering thing is choice even if that choice does not conform to society’s ideals. Please let us know about the next “BE.YOU.TIFUL Woman in You” event, seemed like a lot of fun! I am planning to attend the Philippines Women’s Club Tea and Hanbok party so maybe i’ll get to meet you then.

  9. I am always impressed by Korean skincare. In the States, it’s pretty rare for guys to give two thoughts about skincare. But after a year of living in Korea and noticing what great skin everyone has, even I have started slipping into Nature Republic from time to time:D
