My Guam vacation on the last week of July was a blast and a welcome respite for me and my family. Under the bright sun of the island paradise of Guam, I enjoyed the tropical breeze. But that also meant carelessly spending longer time under the uncompromising glare of the sun.
So, upon arriving in Seoul I immediately started with the Cell Return Platinum Mask. It is the LED Light Therapy Mask from Cell Return. I felt it was a perfect time to start with this new routine and the best part of it was, I can do it at home at any time at my convenience. I excitedly unboxed the package and found it was the Platinum set with two masks with it: the gold and silver masks.
Platinum Mask
I found out that the Cell Return Platinum Mask has the most number of light emitting diodes or LED at 1,026 LED compared with other existing masks. It is different from the photos and reviews I found on the internet because of the number of LED it possesses. Apparently, the more LED, the better. The structure of the masks also covers the whole face. It means that, the LED is evenly distributed all over the face making it work evenly and equally.
Gold and Silver Masks
There are two mask colors under the Cell Return Platinum Mask package. The gold mask made me excited to put it on. My sons called me an alien and sometimes called me Iron Man. They had fun watching me, either sitting down or lying down while the mask was on my face. It was on July 29, 2019, right after I settled back here in Seoul when I first used the mask. Every night, I would do the usual routine of cleansing and washing my face. I would then put on a toner and a serum prior to the LED mask. Each day, I patiently waited until my 20 minutes was over.
I eventually settled on using the silver mask rather than the gold mask, even though my two sons found it creepier on my face. You see, the silver mask has a hole on the face and the nose which makes it less suffocating when your face is fully covered. Not that I felt suffocated using the gold mask, I didn’t! But the idea of being able to see clearly even when you have the mask on was a big plus for me.
There is also an accompanying silicon for eye protection. I sometimes used those to minimize the disturbance of the LEDs to my eyes. At other times, I don’t use them as I just allow myself to doze off and relax.
LED Light Colors
The Platinum Masks has three colors to choose from: red, blue and pink. I am not sure about what the Pink LED lights do but Blue LED lights are ideal for acne treatment, skin blemishes and scars. Red LED lights stimulate collagen so this one is good for skin rejuvenation, firming and brightening.
My 43-year old skin needs rejuvenation and firming! So, it was a no-brainer to mainly use the red LED lights for my light therapy. I had been using the Red LED mask diligently for four weeks. In total, I have only missed three days of not using it. Those were the days I was extremely exhausted to go through the whole process.
My Skin’s Reaction to LED Treatment
How did my skin react to the LED treatment? Realistically, the four weeks of using it didn’t give me dramatic changes. I don’t have pore-less skin to boast of. Neither am I white-heads free.
But the gradual changes that steadily came makes me feel better about my skin. Over the four-week period, I noticed my skin has become brighter and a little bit firmer than it was before. But what I appreciated the most was, I never had any pimple breakout while undergoing the treatment. August was a busy time for me doing various things. When I am busy and stressed out, I would see a pimple or two coming out of my face. But not this time, even though there were nights I had to stay up a little bit longer. This alone is a big relief to me.
The convenience of using the mask is also a major feature of Cell Return masks. The masks are wireless so you can go around the house with it. It has a strap that secures the mask on your face. You can just charge it prior to using it. The base where I let it stand serves as its charger as well.
I would definitely want to continue using it as long as I can and even recommend it. It does cost steeper than most LED masks in the market but it is because of the number of LED lights it contains. I wish I can continue to have the convenience of this home pampering self-care equipment.
Sana meron din nito sa PH!! Wanna try it for my pampering session at home 🙂
you may check out Cell Return’s website also:-)
Is it affordable? I think it’s expensive because of the products used. I think I need a pampering session too ASAP after reading this!
medyo may kamahalan lang.
I have problems with acne scarring so I think my face also needs some helpful light therapy! The mask also does remind me of iron man which is a plus! Where is it available? Haha

That looks robotic. Haha. Anyway, if it’s effective, it’s worth using as part of one’s beauty routine.
