Mole Removal in Seoul

I decided to have a mole removal procedure here in Seoul last Friday, April 25. It has been a long wish to have the prominent mole in my face removed but I was hesitant. But when I asked permission from my husband, he easily said yes!

With my husband’s permission secured, I informed my family I am going to have my mole removed. I know it isn’t a major procedure. But, I still just wanted to inform them. At my age, I am laughing at the thought of making this like a big step.

나의미래 or My Mirae

The clinic’s name is 나의미래 or My Mirae. Mirae means “future”. You have a skin clinic’s name as “My Future”. You see, Koreans are known to give high value on their physical appearance. That’s why medical tourism was extremely profitable here in Korea pre-Covid19. Go to Gangnam and skin clinics line up a whole street offering the same services.

Anyway, I find the clinic’s name amusing especially knowing the cultural reason behind it. It’s catchy in Hangeul. I believe the clinic is a chain clinic and I am happy they have one here in Digital Media City where I live. This is where I bring my sons whenever they have skin problems.

Cost of Mole Removal Procedure

Mole removal is not an expensive procedure. 나의미래 or My Mirae charges 33,000-krw won per mole and per session. In my case, the doctor thinks my mole runs too deep in my skin. So, I would need to be back 3-4 times more to have it completely gone. I am looking forward there will be no more traces of it after my third or fourth session.

Payment was immediately secured after the anesthetic cream was applied to my face. I guess, it’s part of the ppali-ppali culture. No need to waste more time so better they get my payment during waiting time rather than after the whole procedure is done.

Mole Removal Procedure

  • I had a consultation with the doctor and that is when he told me my mole is too deep. Once is not enough to take out the mole.
  • An anesthetic cream was applied to my mole. I waited for 40 minutes before the next procedure.
  • My mole was cauterized in less then 5 minutes.

It was an easy and painless process. And of course, inexpensive.

Rating: 1 out of 5.

  2. I personally think that moles are beauty marks. I remember wearing fake moles before haha! Anyway, I’m glad that you finally got it removed. I really admire the surgeons in Korea. If it’s in the Philippines, it might be not painless and cheap.

  3. Korea is always so advance in the beauty industry. Glad that the procedure is quick and went well.

  4. I have a prominent mole on my face too but I haven’t thought about having it removed. Hmnn, I wonder what will I look like. The surgery cost is surprising, I thought it’s going to be expensive since Korea is well-known for cosmetic surgeries.

  5. Wow, i find this super fascinating actually. I have a few moles in my body i want removed and it’s good to know that korea is the place to get the job done. Hahaha. Better save up first!

  6. Ate Wendy and I have a mole on same side of our cheeks and I remember when we took a selfie together we were look-alike hahaha. I’m planning to remove mine too. I wish I can find a clinic nearby that speaks English rather than Korean.

    1. Why don’t you do it in the same clinic I go to? Tapos you can go around DMC and have a photo at those shooting locations I’d been posting?:-)

  7. Kung dito ata sa Pilipinas yan mas mahal, I have mole under my eyes na nabobother talaga ako dati, pero ngayon hindi na, may mga kakilala ako na nagpatanggal din ng mole and they are happy with the result, so I am happy din for you that you got to removed yours, masakit po ba yung procedure? I will look forward for the final look kapag wala na yung mole 😀

  8. I have a big and really prominent mole on my face too. My clasmates would even tease me that I look like Former president GMA. When I was younger I want it removed but now, I just don’t care about it anymore.

  9. I have a big mole on my nose and I get teased by it growing up. When I was in college, my mom to suggested that I have it removed. I thought hard about it, I realized it’s part of my identity. But if mine gives me some problems or if it changes appearance, I think I have no choice. I converted the price of mole removal per mole in Korea to our currency here and it’s quite expensive pala.

  10. I was actually thinking about having this procedure years ago. I’m just curious how this will affect government ID processes? Lol

  11. I also wanted to remove a birthmark on my body. I’ve been thinking a lot as to wherr I should have the procedurea and Korea is on top of my list. I’m glad the procedure went well!

  12. Wow! That’s really quite an investment! But cheers to women like you who are masters of their bodies, and make their own definition of what’s beautiful for them.

  13. I’m glad that you have it removed, and I know that you are free now to do everything after the sessions like drinking and swimming. And atleast you can continue your skin regimen esp you LED mask.

  14. That’s brave of you! Atleast you know what you really want. How is it so far?
I’m thinking if it’s almost the same as warts removal. I had my warts removed long before through cauterization too.

  15. wow this is nice po, marami pala talagang clinic jan, kaya naman glass skin ang mga korean. im watching your vlog now to see it in flesh.

  16. My doctor recently got worried about the dark mole on my leg (it’s been there since birth) and she offered to get it checked. Good thing the result isn’t cancerous. I wouldn’t blame her to be worried about seeing dark moles coz here in Australia, statistic shows that moles could be a sign of skin cancer.

Although she still offer to get it removed completely. I declined the offer. The dark mole on my leg becomes part of my identity.
