4-Day Itinerary in Singapore

My family decided to go for a vacation for the Eid-al-Fitr holidays so I came up with a 4-Days itinerary in Singapore. We stayed there for 4 days and 4 nights as we arrived on a Thursday night. There was nothing much we can do when we arrived so we just had dinner and rested in our hotel for the much-needed rest for the 4 days ahead.

Let’s take out Universal Studios from the list, lest you will be expecting it. I asked my sons if they would like to go there but they preferred not to.

So here’s our 4-day itinerary which you might possibly get some ideas from.

Day 1

We started the day with a hearty breakfast. Breakfast buffet is part of our hotel accommodation so might as well fill ourselves with energy. Since our hotel is located in the city center, we set out on foot going to Chinatown.

Chinatown. Chinatown has interesting alleys of temples and stores. It’s a huge area, but a walkable one so we allowed ourselves to get lost in the maze of alleys until we arrived at the center of Chinatown. Of course, this is where you can buy your inexpensive souvenirs and satisfy your food cravings.

As we allowed ourselves to explore the streets, we found a newly-opened gem that I am sure would be a go-to place for bag collectors. Coach recently opened its first-ever Coach Cafe by The Brawns and Brains along Keong Saik Street, Chinatown. It isn’t just a cafe though. It is a Coach Playhouse that houses the Coach lobby with its new collections. The second floor showed us the vintage collection and the third floor is its Coach museum. You can check out more about it in this vlog:

I made a reservation at LAVO Skyview and Rooftop restaurant at the Marina Bay Sands for our Friday dinner. My friend met us here and joined us for dinner and we enjoyed the magnificent view it offers. Since LAVO is on top of the Marina Bay Sands, we can see from above the iconic views of Singapore. Plus the sunset!

We enjoyed the breeze and the view from above so we decided to forego seeing the Gardens by the Bay from the ground. It was the best decision since we didn’t want to be in a packed place with everyone wanting to get a good photo.

So we leisurely walked around the Marina Bay Sands after spending a long time at the rooftop restaurant. On the grounds, you can go to the floating LV Store and the floating Apple Store.

Our boys were enjoying all the walks so we went around some more and got to take more photos of these Singapore landmarks from the ground. This was a good one for our first day.

Day 2

Our 4-day itinerary in Singapore would not be complete without visiting our friends.

Our second day was not your typical tourist day out. We visited friends we met when we were all living in Seoul. We arranged and reserved the day intentionally for these visits since the boys were also good friends with the kids who were their classmates back in Seoul.

Visiting a country doesn’t always have to be out and about. It’s also about rekindling friendships. What do you think? Do you also do this when you visit a place? Or you’re the type who maximizes sightseeing?

For us, this was a most relaxing day. Our sons also had the chance to go out with their friends on their own while we stayed at our friend’s house.

Dinner was also spent at another friend’s house in another area so we still got to see different sides of Singapore.

Day 3

This was a walking day. I love how walkable Singapore is. The boys love it, too and they keep on talking about how they would always walk in Seoul. It’s safe and clean and encourages you to just walk and take public transportation.

My itinerary on the morning of the third day allowed my husband and the boys to relax at the pool or just do whatever they want. I scheduled a walk with my friends around Dempsey Hill to see the black and white houses I have been intrigued with when I saw them in my friend’s photos.

I don’t think this is part of a tourist’s itinerary. This is more what local expatriates like to do because they have time to discover Singapore a day at a time. But if you are like me who likes to see the streets, nooks, and alleys of the places I go to, I would recommend you put this in your places to-go, too.

Our lunchtime was a meet-up with our families in the Kampong Glam area. This is definitely a tourist spot that both local and foreign tourists like to go to. There are many people in this area for eating and shopping.

I think you should not pass up on the Kampong Glam area when you visit Singapore. Definitely put it in your schedule.

We still had a good amount of energy left so we went around the Riverside at night time. Our hotel was by the riverside so it was convenient until we decided we had enough walking. Our boys liked the atmosphere and the walking that everyone does. They see people biking and jogging even at night.

Day 4

Our last day was an intentionally slow day. My family wants their vacation as relaxed as possible for they always reason out that’s what vacations are for. While our sons relaxed in the hotel room, my husband and I went for a quick shopping at Orchard Road.

Since Charles & Keith is a Singapore brand, I thought it is practical to buy from here. It is definitely cheaper in Singapore.

If you also happen to see this Ice Cream Loti (Singapore Ice Cream Sandwich), fall in line and enjoy its ice cream sandwich.

Our flight back to Jakarta was purposely late at night because we wanted to drop by the Jewel Changi Airport. I didn’t have a chance to see it last time so we scheduled to be early so we can go around. It is easy to go from one terminal to another. Just check where the shuttle buses are located and make sure you have enough time to be able to get back to your terminal for your flight.

This is it for our 4-day itinerary in Singapore. It is a full schedule, yet it is also balanced to have enough time to rest and relaxed. You can check out the full video here:
